Biography
Flavia is a PhD candidate at the section for Statistics and Data Analysis, Department of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, Technical University of Denmark. Her current research lies in the field of big data analysis with applications to the manufacturing industry. She is currently visiting the Cambridge Service Alliance Group under the guidance of Dr Mohamed Zaki.
Flavia’s PhD project is part of MADE (Manufacturing Academy of Denmark) and involves close collaboration with The LEGO Group. The project belongs to MADE’s SPIR 9.2 package which deals with sensor and quality control. The primary scope of the PhD project is to develop proper data analysis methods for process understanding and improvement in injection moulding production at the industry partner’s plants.
Background
Flavia holds a Master of Science in Stochastic Dynamical Modelling from the Technical University of Denmark. Her thesis has been done in collaboration with Lloyd's Register Consulting in the field of machinery dynamics where she applied machine learning and statistics. Flavia also has expertise in the domain of risk and safety where she worked 3 years as a consultant for the Danish consulting engineering company Rambøll.
