It is with pleasure that we can announce that Matthäus Wilga, a collaborator here with the CSA has successfully defended his dissertation “Revolutionising Service – Innovating Businesses through the Integration of Non-Human Agents.”
Wording from Matthäus below:
My research explores how hashtag#AIAgents are transforming service interactions: Reshaping how we engage with technology, what this means for the well-being of customers and service providers, and how we realise value from these hashtag#innovations.
This achievement marks a pivotal moment in a journey shaped by curiosity, persistence, and continuous growth, and it also represents the beginning of an exciting path ahead 🌱.
I am deeply grateful to my family and friends for their unwavering support throughout this journey. You have been a constant source of encouragement, positivity, and joy, through challenges and celebrations alike.
My sincere thanks go to my supervisor, Angela Roth, for the trust and freedom to pursue this research. I also extend my gratitude to Kathrin Moeslein for the opportunity to contribute to and conduct research within FAU Wi1 - Chair of Information Systems I, Innovation & Value Creation.
I am especially thankful to you Dr. Martin Schymanietz for your guidance and mentorship as my PostDoc and a true friend, and likewise thank you Nina Lugmair for the many inspiring, engaging, and adventurous projects we shared throughout the journey. Moreover, I am greateful to Max Jalowski, Natalie Breutner, Peter Hottum, Dr. Peter Schopf, Janik Wadlinger, my awesome student assistants such as Agnes, Yvonne, Louisa Schoplocher, Eva-Maria Zips or Judith Wahl, and many more co-authors, colleagues, students and conference peers who made this experience both impactful and memorable.
I further owe gratitude to many collaborators that invaluably supported data collection and partnered with me on the research behind this dissertation, including Mohamed Zaki and the incredible colleagues at the Cambridge Service Alliance, Prof. Dr. Claudia Lehmann and Sonja Vogeler with their amazing JOSEPHS GmbH team, and Dr. Maximilian Perez of the Rid Stiftung together with Valentin Kiefl and Jakob Kiefl.
Finally, I enjoyed working with my colleagues in the insightful and impactful projects IIP-Ecosphere, hashtag#DL2030, hashtag#SHAPE and in particular the team and community behind the Deutsches Forum Dienstleistungsforschung. The research in this dissertation has been funded and enabled in these projects by the Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung hashtag#BMFTR, Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy hashtag#BMWE, and Projektträger Karlsruhe (PTKA) am Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (KIT).
Looking forward to continuing this journey: Exploring the future of AI in service and beyond
