It was a pleasure to host more than 30 academics across the UK universities to kick off UK Service Research Network co-organised with Matthew Alexander Ilias Danatzis and Amin Nazifi
Service researchers across the UK are doing fascinating and impactful work, yet many of us rarely get the chance to come together across institutions, disciplines, and sectors in one room. Yesterday felt like an important first step towards changing that.
We had brilliant discussions on the future of services in the UK, AI-enabled transformation, service economies, emerging research challenges, industry collaboration, education, and opportunities of the thin network can open doors for joint research and funding. What stood out most was the openness, generosity, and collective ambition in the room.
A huge thank you to everyone who travelled to Cambridge and contributed to the discussions from universities and organisations across the UK. It was fantastic to see academics and industry practitioners exchanging ideas in different topics.
Huge thanks to our academic panelist Valentina Pitardi, Markus Blut,Philippa (Pippa) Hunter-Jones, Ilias Danatzis and industry panelist Mohamed E, Stefaan Vanassche, Ulas Malli and Dr Antonia Sudkaemper for great and interesting discussion on challenges and opportunities of AI in services.
Great thanks to the Cambridge Service Alliance team Charlotte Jenkins and Katerina Loshkareva for their support to make this happen.
There is clearly huge momentum for building a stronger and more connected UK service research community.
Looking forward to seeing where this network goes next.
