Mohamed Zaki and Abdul Rauf Khan from the CSA awarded a fund to investigate the application of advanced Big Data methods in manufacturing industry.
The research will use inferential analysis based on existing large sensory data. The aim of this project is to improve the production through reliable predictions on the performances of the products that are subjected to several stages of testing and hence shortening the time of testing for an individual product. The research will have access to terabytes of mixed data continuously generated by the sensors at each stage of the testing procedure. Efficient handling of these data sets is itself proven to be a challenging.
